When it comes to a fresh piercing, the appearance of the jewelry is not the most important criterion. What matters is its documented material, design, size and adjustment to the anatomy and expected swelling. Jewelry should support healing even after the client leaves the studio.
Material: Trade name is not enough
The name "titanium", "surgical steel" or "gold" does not yet confirm the quality of the product. You need to know the specific alloy, check compliance with relevant standards, manufacturer's documentation, surface finish and sterilization possibility.
Therefore, the piercer should verify the supplier, instead of basing the decision on the description in the store alone.
Size and reserve for swelling
Jewelry that is too short may compress the tissue. If it is too long, it moves more often and gets caught. The initial size is selected individually, taking into account the anatomy and expected tissue reaction.
Once the piercing is stabilized, the piercer can plan an inspection and, if necessary, shorten the jewelry.
The shape of the jewelry and the place of piercing
A labret, a straight or curved barbell, and a ring position themselves differently in the tissue. The choice depends on the location of the piercing and the stage of healing, not just the desired appearance.
The decoration should have a smooth finish and a structure that allows for safe installation.
What to expect from training?
The course should include: measuring, inventory planning, recognizing basic structures and reading material documentation. These issues are part of ours jewelry and care module.
Supplier documentation is part of the product
A nice name of the collection and a photo of the product are not enough. The piercer should know what alloy he is buying, who is the manufacturer and whether the supplier can provide documentation of the material.
Our own list of proven manufacturers, alloys, structures and sizes helps. Thanks to it, the client's decision is based on prior verification and not on time pressure.
