There is no deadline after which each person automatically becomes an independent piercer. A 2-3 day course can get the basics sorted, but then you need observation, supervised practice, case studios and further study.

Appointment: time depends on competence, not calendar

Classic apprenticeship involves observing and gradually taking over tasks under the supervision of a mentor. This process takes months, sometimes longer. The pace should be determined by acquired competences and the number of cases analyzed, not the calendar itself.

The international APP guidelines describe an extensive model that includes documented hours, observation and supervised piercings. You can read more about path comparison in the article apprenticeship with a piercer or paid course.

Course: intensive foundation in 2-3 days

During the course, the program and the instructor's time are set in advance, so the basics can be covered intensively and in a specific order. Ours training program combines theory, observation and piercings on models under constant supervision.

This is not a replacement for months of studio work. The aim of the course is to prepare for further, responsible development of skills.

What happens immediately after the training

The certificate does not end your education. It's worth sorting the first weeks by: plan for the first 90 days. Further actions may include:

  • continued practice on conscious models, only within the scope of mastered procedures and under the supervision of a person who can interrupt and correct the work,
  • using a closed support group for students - that's exactly why we run it,
  • building a portfolio and presence in social media,
  • gradually expanding the repertoire with more difficult piercings, if the training provided a solid foundation.

When can you work fully independently?

Independence begins when you are able to repeatedly prepare a position, qualify a client, select jewelry, perform a procedure and respond to problems. The supervisor's assessment that these competencies are stable is also important.

The pace will be different for each person. The 1:1 variant allows for a more accurate assessment of strengths and gaps, but it does not replace subsequent practice.
