The path to becoming a piercer does not end with the course. You need a solid foundation, supervised practice, knowledge of safety rules and further learning. The certificate confirms completion of the program, but does not automatically mean readiness to perform each procedure independently.
Do you need a specialized education?
There is no state piercing school or professional diploma in Poland. In practice, you need to be of legal age, have knowledge of anatomy, dermatology and asepsis, and follow sanitary regulations regarding procedures that disturb tissue continuity.
What matters is verifiable skills, responsibility, workplace procedures and recognizing the limits of one's own competences. The certificate does not replace experience.
Two paths to entering the profession
You will most often encounter two learning models:
- Apprenticeship with a piercer — long-term, often free learning with a mentor; schedule and scope depend on arrangements with the studio.
- Paid, structured course — public program, specified number of days, practice on models and certificate upon completion.

What do international industry standards say?
The Association of Professional Piercers emphasizes that a single course, video or seminar does not replace long-term learning under the supervision of an experienced mentor. In the recommended model, observation, supervised practice, documentation of progress, safety and ongoing education are important.

What you need to learn before piercing your first client
Regardless of the path chosen, the program must include a specific set of competencies:
- anatomy and physiology of skin and cartilage, selection of safe piercing places,
- hygiene, asepsis and sterilization of tools in accordance with sanitary regulations,
- technique of performing needle piercings - separately for the ear and separately for the face,
- selection of jewelry with documented composition and quality according to the anatomy, piercing site and healing stage,
- dealing with the client before, during and after the procedure, including responding to problematic situations.

How long does it take and how much does it cost
The time needed for safe independence varies individually. Our group training for two people lasts three days and costs PLN 6,000 per person. The 1:1 option lasts two days and costs PLN 8,000.

First steps after obtaining the certificate
The certificate is the beginning, not the end. Immediately after the training it is worth:
- build a portfolio of well-documented piercings,
- work for some time under the informal supervision of an instructor or a more experienced piercer,
- take care of clear photos and a profile on Instagram, where many customers compare piercers,
- establish a realistic Pricing for services, taking into account the cost of jewelry and disposable materials.

Does the location of the course matter?
The program, group size, quality of supervision and model practice are more important than the address itself. If your chosen training requires travel, compare the schedule and cost of your stay with the amount of time allocated to observe your technique.
