The piercing technique can be learned. It is more difficult to change the way you respond to stress, your approach to procedures or your patience in contact with the client. Before signing up for a course, check whether the daily work of a piercer fits your predispositions.

1. Composure and a steady hand under pressure

The client may be nervous, feel bad or change his mind just before the procedure. In such a situation, the piercer must remain calm and precise, instead of accelerating under pressure.

2. Empathy and the ability to calm the client down

A large part of the visit is a conversation: explanation of the procedure, answers to questions and help in overcoming fear. Trust must be built in a short time, without downplaying the customer's emotions.

3. Meticulous in hygiene and procedures

Sterilization and asepsis are not a formality. These are repetitive activities that must be performed carefully with each client. Meticulousness is more important here than acting "by feel".

4. Mental resistance to blood and unexpected reactions

Fainting, heavier bleeding or a violent emotional reaction may occur during work. You must be able to react calmly and according to procedure.

5. Aesthetic and spatial sense

Symmetry, proportions of the ear or face and matching the place to the anatomy require a good eye. A steady hand isn't enough if you can't spot the little differences.

6. Willingness to constantly learn

After the course, you still need to follow the techniques, jewelry quality and sanitary requirements. The certificate concludes the training, but not the learning process.

7. Entrepreneurship

Running your own business requires more than just technical skills. The basics of marketing, creating a Pricing and organizing work are useful. We discuss them in more detail in a module devoted to working with clients and business.

How to check this before signing up for a course

Before booking, you can ask us what the training day looks like and what the subsequent work requirements are. Talking about your expectations will help you evaluate this direction before paying the deposit.
